Propellerfella

I have always had an interest in peculiar pieces of history. It was therefore a fun challenge, when TimeWinder asked me to create a visual overview of the history of the propeller hat.

The Story

My research began and ended on the Internet. Though there is not much information available about the colourful clothing item, I managed to compile all the bits and pieces into a chronological and coherent text which I then translated into Danish.

Posters

My task was to create multiple large posters to turn the history into a fun and engaging experience. I had complete freedom with regards to the design, colours and typography. I chose a very colourful and childlike design accurately representing the values associated with the propeller hat. Although each page has a unique visual identity, they all share the same core values: colourful, happy and fun.

Website

The task of visualising the history of the propeller hat was so much fun that I decided to transfer it online. I therefore hardcoded a one-page website in HTML and CSS in yet a unique and colourful design. I furthermore made the posters available for download, making it possible for everybody to experience the colourful history of the propeller hat.
