CPH:DOX 2019

CPH:DOX is an international documentary film festival held annually in Copenhagen. In 2019, I had the opportunity to document the CPH:Industry Days, an event where guests got to experience the equipment and meet the people behind the documentary films. Canon sponsored the event and showcased various cinema cameras and lenses for film shooting.

My main task was to capture the overall atmosphere of the industry days, with a special focus on Canon's presence there. I also conducted interviews with several cinematographers, working alongside a journalist to gather their insights. The goal was to create a series of highlight reels to showcase Canon's involvement during the event and to use them for marketing purposes after the festival. One significant challenge was complying with GDPR regulations, which meant I couldn't include faces of anyone except Canon's employees in the videos. This restriction pushed me to be more innovative and creative in my cinematography and editing to convey emotions and moods without showing facial expressions.

Despite this hurdle, I managed to produce captivating and emotionally charged videos that effectively showcased the essence of the event. Canon was delighted with the final video, which received prominent placement on their LinkedIn page.
